The Miami Dolphins have confirmed the re-signings of running back Salvon Ahmed and punter Jake Bailey.
Ahmed, who joined Miami after being awarded off waivers on Aug. 26, 2020, has amassed a four-year career comprising 38 games and four starts (2020-23). He has accumulated 163 carries for 593 yards and five touchdowns, along with 40 receptions for 274 yards and one touchdown. Notably, Ahmed also contributed to Miami’s AFC Wild Card game at Buffalo following the 2022 season. His NFL journey began when he entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with San Francisco on May 1, 2020, following a successful collegiate career at Washington.
Meanwhile, Bailey became a part of the Dolphins squad on March 17, 2023, and made his presence felt throughout the 17 regular-season games, including the AFC Wild Card game. He delivered 53 punts totaling 2,424 yards with an impressive average of 45.7 yards per punt and a net average of 40.7 yards. Bailey’s exceptional net punt average ranked fifth in single-season Dolphins history. As he embarks on his sixth NFL season, having played in 75 career games, Bailey’s journey in the league began when he was selected as the 163rd overall pick in the fifth round by the New England Patriots during the 2019 NFL Draft. Notably, he earned a spot on the AFC Pro Bowl team in 2020 after posting a league-leading 45.6 net average. Bailey honed his skills during his collegiate years at Stanford.
